Zipline Australia has revealed the location shift of their new Mt Coot-tha Reserve zipline was due to potential attacks from powerful owls.
Conservation groups including Birds Queensland and Birdlife Australia had previously raised concerns about risks to the species and potential owl attacks on patrons of the zipline.
Birdlife Australia project officer Beth Mott said the owls, which have nested in parts of the Mt Coot-tha Reserve for at least 30 years, are quite reactive to things going on in their environment.
