A mass blackout has left vast swathes of Bali without power, after a major substation outage occurred just after midday on Wednesday.
Major parts of the island are still without electricity after a supply disruption between a substation in Kediri and a coal power plant on the neighbouring island of Java. Traffic lights are down in Denpasar and many homes are still without power.
The cause of the blackout is still under investigation by local utility authorities.
