Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has revealed Brisbane Airport has successfully trialled biofuels, jet fuels made from sugar and wood products, in 195 flights.

The success of the trial could lead to a multi-million dollar industry where Queensland could supply biofuels to the US Navy and to Australian and south-east Asian airports.

Biofuels burn with 80 per cent less carbon emissions than conventional hydrocarbon jet fuels.
