A four-year-old girl has been confirmed as the eighth case of meningococcal disease in Tasmania.
The East Devonport girl is in a stable condition at the Royal Hobart Hospital after being diagnosed with the disease.
It is the eighth case in the state in two months.
Authorities urge people who suspect they or others may have contracted meningococcal disease to seek immediate emergency medical care.
