Coles has expanded its Quiet Hour initiative to include more than 170 supermarkets as part of their ongoing effort to provide a more comfortable shopping experience for customers with autism spectrum disorder.

The Quiet Hour initiative was introduced late last year in 70 stores in partnership with Autism Spectrum Australia.

On Tuesdays from 10:30am to 11:30am, Coles stores dim the lights, turn off music and turn down the volume of scanners, while trolley collection is suspended to cater to people with ASD, or anyone else who may have difficulty with bright, loud and crowded environments.
