A nine-year-old girl was disciplined at Kenmore South State School for refusing to stand for the national anthem during assembly.
The girl received a lunch time detention after she said the song was wrong and disregards Indigenous Australians.
The year four student said the decision to take a stand was made mostly by herself and the subject had been discussed with her parents.
