There are reports that we could see the Adani Carmichael Coal mine at full speed as soon as December following the announcement of a new railway connection between Abbott Point and the Galilee Basin.
The new railway connection is a compromise for the mining giant after the Queensland Government said they would block any taxpayer loan from the Northern Australia Infrastructure Fund to the mine.
Adani Australia Chief Executive Officer Lucas Dow says they're 100 per cent committed to getting the mine out of the planning stage, with this narrow gauge railway connection estimated to cut expenses in half.
