Prime Minister Scott Morrison is establishing a royal commission into aged care after incidents of neglect, abuse and negligence in nursing homes have arisen across Australia.

This comes 12 months after South Australia’s Oakden care facility was closed after evidence of elder abuse and neglect.

This commision aims to focus on investigating the quality of care within the nation, as well as providing for different demographics.

This decision will affect the 1.3 million Australians accessing aged care services.
