Rescue workers in the Philippines have recovered bodies buried in the the landslide caused by Typhoon Mangkhut in the country’s mining town of Itogon.

According to a national police report, the death toll on Monday midday reached 65, with 43 people missing and 64 sustaining injuries.

Victorio Palangdan, the Itogon mayor, said he believes 99 per cent of those missing did not survive the landslide.
