South Australia has become one of the last states in Australia to remove time limits of child abuse victims taking civil action against their abuser.
The bill to remove the statute of limitations on child abuse passed State Parliament yesterday, similar to laws enacted in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia.
Currently, victims of abuse have until their 21st birthday to seek compensation through courts, but this will now be removed for all forms of sexual, physical and mental abuse.
