Two British soldiers have been aquitted of negligence in the deaths of three reservists, including an Australian Army soldier.

The three reservists died in 2013 following a British Army selection exercise which involved the men carrying up to 27 kilograms on a 25 kilometre training march on one of the hottest days of the year.

Two men died of heat stroke and one man died later from organ failure.

The judge said the deaths were a result of systematic failures in the British Army as both soldiers running the exercise were not trained in heat illness risk assessment.
