A search is underway for a 69-year-old camper who went missing in a Far North Queensland area known as ‘crocodile country’.
At around 11am on Wednesday, the man left a campsite 20 km from Lockhart River, but failed to return by 5pm. This is when an alarm was raised.
Police located some of the man’s belongings during an initial search that took place yesterday. Additional crew and the Rescue 510 helicopter have been brought in this morning to advance the search.
