The former Managing Director of the ABC Michelle Guthrie was reportedly told by the board to fire political correspondents after complaints from Government MPs.
In emails obtained by Fairfax Media, Board Chairman Justin Milne said the government hates economic correspondent Emma Alberici (alber-ichi) and that she must be fired in fear of further budget cuts if the government wins the next election.
Ms Guthrie was fired halfway through her five-year term on Monday, and is considering taking legal action against the public broadcaster.
