Six former Ipswich City Councillors who were sacked last month when it was dissolved by the State Government are now taking legal action for unfair dismissal, hoping to be compensated for their time out of office.

Formerly a councillor for Division 2, Mr Paul Tully said they’re entitled to compensation because they weren’t among the fifteen charged with corruption.

The matter is set for an initial hearing with the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission’s Industrial Court on October 22.
