There have been calls for emergency funding to support Queensland’s tourism industry, after two recent shark attacks in the Whitsundays.
Katter’s Australian Party’s Queensland leader Robbie Katter MP said media coverage of the shark attacks have spread globally and led to damage to Whitsundays’ reputation.
Katter said he wants the State Government to consider a funding boost for North Queensland to mitigate any impacts on the summer holiday season.
