A pop-up strawberry sundae stand in Brisbane’s King George Square has seen thousands support local farmers in the wake of the needle contamination scare.

 

The event was organised by the Prince Charles Hospital Foundation, selling over 14,000 and using over 700 kilograms of strawberries.

 

Brisbane Lord Mayor Graham Quirk and Queensland Reds players helped serving, helping promote the state government announced a $1 million package with $150,000 for the Queensland Strawberry Growers Association.
