Dutch Organisation 'The Ocean Cleanup' is facing the challenge of removing 1.8 trillion pieces of plastic from the pacific ocean.

They are using a unique device - a 600m long bar, with a 3m skirt floating below to catch plastic debris.

The group believes that with their devices, they can halve the amount of plastic in the great pacific garbage patch in just five years.

Scientists however worry that these organisations aren’t prepared for the volume of miniscule plastic particles that can slip through nets and harm our ocean life.
