A Syrian man who spent more than 6 months living in a Malaysian airport has been removed and placed in police custody.
Hassan al-Kontar sent a video to SBS’s Go Back Where You Came From highlighting his situation of fleeing his war-torn homeland and becoming stuck in Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
Soon after the video aired, he was taken into custody by Malaysian police and detained by the Department of Immigration.
