225 million American Mobile Phones - about 75% of the phones in the country, today received a test “presidential alert” message.
The test message came with a loud tone and vibration, and the screen read “this is a test of the national emergency alert system. No action is required.”
This is the first national test of the wireless system that will be used in future to communicate with the American public about disasters and safety threats.
