Almost one-hundred covert cameras across Brisbane are working to catch residents illegally dumping, which can impose fines up to two-thousand-six-hundred dollars.

Brisbane City Council received nearly two-thousand reports of illegal dumping last year, revealing Sunnybank Hills, Inala, Runcorn, Forest Lake and Zillmere as hotspots.

Half-a-million dollars of taxpayer funds are invested annually in cleaning up the rubbish of illegal dumpers.
