American ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, has unexpectedly resigned from her role.
Haley gave no reason for her departure, nearly two years into the job, but has denied she has intentions to run for president in the 2020 election.
Haley will continue her position until the end of the year and her successor will be named in the coming weeks.
