A rare white tiger has mauled and killed a zookeeper in its enclosure at a zoo in Kagoshima in Japan.
Police officials said the zookeeper was found collapsed in a cage bleeding, and was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The tiger from the Hirakawa Zoological Park was sedated after the attack and its fate is not known.
