Prime Minister Scott Morrison says no school should be allowed to refuse LGBTIQ students, following a Commonwealth review into religious protections leaked to the media this week.

Mr Morrison originally refused to take a stance on the issue on Wednesday, simply acknowledging that "existing laws" allowed certain schools to turn away students, based on their sexuality.

The review found that no schools have exercised the existing laws to reject or expel students based on their sexuality, and includes recommendations to remove the potential for discrimination in the future.
