Today will see the first of three inquests into three deaths of teenagers who took their own life following the 2014 closure of the Barrett Adolescent Centre.

Closed by the Liberal National Party, the facility provided care for Brisbane’s young people with mental illness. The deaths took place 8 months after the closure.

The inquest will begin in the Coroners Court and will run for three days, along with a joint hearing into the deaths will be held in December.
