Harvard University has gone to trial over alleged discrimination against students of Asian origin during admissions selection.
Harvard denied these claims but has defended its use of broader selection criteria which looks at factors other than academic excellence to build a diverse cohort.
The trial started on Monday in Boston and is expected to last three weeks.
