Prime Minister Scott Morrison said he’s open to moving the Australian embassy from Israeli capital Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, recognising the city as the legitimate capital.

The UN rejected Israel’s claim to Jerusalem as its capital in a non-binding resolution last year, which was disregarded by US President Donald Trump.

Under new Middle Eastern Policy, Morrison is expected to deepen defence ties with Israel, and to vote “no” tomorrow on a UN resolution recognising the Palestinian Authority as chair of the G77.
