A report into child disadvantage in Australia has found families are under increasing stress due to the housing crisis and labour market changes.
The Child Social Exclusion research report detailed that the key factors in determining a child’s disadvantage were their family’s socio-economic status, and the degree to which they were exposed to housing stress.
One in six children under fourteen was found to be living in poverty, according to data from the 2016 census.
