Tasmanian public servants will strike in the thousands this afternoon in protest over a pay dispute.
Unions are pushing for a three percent pay rise, while the state government will not budge on two per cent.
More than sixty state schools are expected to close early, with the strike also expected to affect libraries, national parks and Risdon Prison.
