The thoroughbred racing industry has called off races in Queensland after its deadline for the Government to make changes to the new gambling tax passed.
The Australian Trainers Association has cancelled races for this Saturday’s Cox Plate Day in Doomben, Gold Coast, Townsville and Toowoomba.
A spokesperson for Racing Minister Stirling Hinchliffe warned the ABC they are planning more strikes for Melbourne Cup day.
