At least 6 people are dead and thousands have been forced to flee their villages following a deadly typhoon that hit the northern Philippines on Tuesday.

Typhoon Yutu set off landslides and possibly buried a government building under construction in Natonin in mountain province, trapping more than 20 people.

Regional police Chief Superintendent Rolando Nana said authorities were attempting to verify the report, but several landslides blocked roads and prevented police from reaching the area.
