According to the new Transport Plan for Brisbane, car-free days, bikeways for electronic bikes and delivery of freight by drones could be operating in Brisbane within two years.
Within the plan’s fourteen key initiatives to be introduced within the next two years are plans to increase the walkability by introducing targeted car-free days in certain locations.
Mid-term initiatives include street revitalisation trials, multimedia messages onboard bus services and lobbying by the State Government to improve pedestrian links to Suncorp Stadium and the Gabba.
