Woorabinda in central Queensland is taking control of government funding to improve its’ community’s future.

The town faces the same issues as remote Indigenous communities, where the Queensland Government spends almost thirty-thousand dollars per person on services that show little impact.

The Woorabinda Aboriginal Shire Council recently created a locally run and operated body that will act as gatekeeper to government funding and services

Yoonthalla Services is expected to be in full operation by early next year and will focus on employment and education.
