Former Prime Minister Tony Abbott has started a three day tour of remote Indigenous communities in outback South Australia.
He is facing criticism his visit is offensive and badly timed after an alleged murder in the town of Ceduna, the first stop of the tour.
The ABC has said many Indigenous communities in South Australia are against the tour as the timing has caused hostility with one Indigenous elder calling it a ‘wasted exercise’.
