From 2019, Australians will be able to get through arrivals at Heathrow Airport faster after the UK Government decided Australian passport holders can use the e-passport gates.

The electronic gates at Heathrow are currently only available to European passport holders, but will now be open up to visitors from Australia, the US, Canada, New Zealand and Japan.

Chancellor Philip Hammond said this sends a message “loud and clear to the rest of the world” that Brexit Britain was “open for business”.
