The introduction of Queensland's new container refund scheme, Containers for Change, has been well embraced by Darling Downs residents, with more than 385, 000 containers being returned in the region since November 1st.

The scheme encourages recycling by reimbursing Queenslanders 10 cents for every bottle or can returned to designated sites across Queensland.

The Minister for Environment and the Great Barrier Reef, Leeanne Enoch says  “Queenslanders use nearly three billion containers every year and sadly they are the second most commonly littered item in the environment, despite the fact they can be easily recycled.”
