Comic book writer and co-creator of Marvel, Stan Lee, has died at age 95.

Behind some of the world's best-known comic book characters including Spider-Man, Black Panther, the Avengers and the X-Men, Lee died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles on Monday.

Lee's creations have been made even more popular over the past decade with the release of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the highest-grossing film franchise of all time.
