Construction was began on Monday for a new mental health facility that will cater to the needs of young people, particularly in relation to cyberbullying

The $24 million live-in facility, which is proposed to open in 2020, will provide the right balance of specialised mental health facilities in Queensland, after the close of the Barrett Adolescent Centre at Wacol in 2014.

The facility was designed with input from over 100 young people and families with a range of mental health abilities, in order to create an environment where afflicted youth would like to live.
