Chinese scientists have revealed plans to use satellites and rockets as part of an effort to artificially produce rainfall.
The Tianhe Project, estimated to cost $19 million, is the world's largest artificial rain experiment, which aims to divert excess water from the Yangtze river basin towards drier parts of the country.
Six satellites developed by the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology are planned to be in orbit by 2022.
