Chef and Syrian refugee George Tabbakh is getting a second chance to share his food and culture with the opening of Middle Eastern-themed Abboud Bakery, in Brisbane’s south-east.

The third-generation baker left his family bakery behind in his war-torn country, and with the help of Brisbane lawyer Angelo Anthony and Coco Bliss franchisee Gus KA-KOOSH, he will make Lebanese bread and Middle Eastern treats in Underwood.

Mr Tabbakh and other refugees working at Abboud Bakery will serve traditional delicacies, including shakshuka dishes, baklava and meat bakery treats.
