Lime Scooters in Brisbane are causing stress for the vision-impaired community with some residents claiming a threat to their safety and their mobility around the city.

Visually-impaired resident, Jane Brit revealed that it's hard to detect the scooters coming up from behind and where scooters are dumped across the city. Citizens allege the bells equipped on the scooters are not enough to alert pedestrians, and riders often attempted to overtake pedestrians on both sides, making it difficult for people using canes.

Representing the visually impaired community, Ms Brit suggests more auditory signalling from both the scooter and the rider and designated return areas could really help with accessibility.
