Another Queensland police officer has been charged and forced to stand down after allegedly inappropriately accessing the police service system.

The 50-year-old male senior constable will appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court in February after being charged with computer hacking and misuse, and has been restricted to desk duties.

This follows the suspension or standing down of three male police officers in December for allegedly accessing the confidential police database for personal use.

The police service was unable to explain the increase in accusations of officers ‘hacking’ into sensitive databases.
