Cambridge University’s Behavioural and Clinical Neuroscience Institute has developed and tested an application designed to improve attention and concentration. The app, ‘Decoder’, presents as a game that activates the frontal-parietal network in the brain of players.

A study found that the app’s use for 8 hours over a month resulted in neurological improvements comparable to the achievements of stimulants like Ritalin (methylphenidate).

The Cambridge research team says they hope their app will be able to assist those with chronic neurological disorders such as ADHD or schizophrenia.
