Alabama members of Congress have called for the resignation of a newspaper editor who encouraged the resurgence white supremacist, terrorist organisation, the Ku Klux Klan.
Goodloe Sutton wrote and published an editorial in the Democrat- Reporter newspaper that begins with the line, “time for the Ku Klux Klan to night ride again”, going on to say Democrats are planning to raise taxes in Alabama, and their gated communities should be raided.
Alabama Senator Doug Jones denounced the piece as disgusting and called for Sutton’s resgination, saying he has seen what happens when we stand by people, especially those with influence, publish hateful and racist views.
