More than 3200 people have signed an e-petition calling for a state government inquiry into Crown land at Ipswich being sold to property developers.

The nearly 34 hectares of the Deebing Creek Crown land were initially set aside as “a reserve for Aborigines” as far back as the early 20th century.

The Fraser’s Property Group says it will maintain key parts of the mission as a heritage centre, and incorporate Indigenous history into the site. But local groups claim they were not consulted.
