German tourist, Arne Murke, has credited his pants for saving his life after he was knocked overboard while out sailing with his brother in New Zealand.
Mr Murke used his pants as a makeshift life jacket, which kept him afloat until rescue crews could find him almost three hours later.
Rescue Coordination Centre New Zealand's Chris Henshaw said, "It was fortunate the yacht had both a VHF radio and emergency beacons to raise the alert. Without appropriate communications devices and beacons it may have turned out differently."
