Over one million people have signed an online change.org petition calling for Senator Fraser Anning to be removed from Parliament.
The petition alleges Senator Anning was elected to Parliament on “dishonest grounds” and says Parliament is “no place for… Neo-Nazis… bigots… [or] hate-speech.”
Senator Anning’s recent comments regarding the Christchurch terror attack sparked widespread criticism and condemnation.
Under Australian law, neither house of the Commonwealth Parliament has the power to expel one of its members.
