Australians are calling for dental care to be Medicare-funded after an increase in spending on oral health services.

As a result of only a third of Australians being eligible for dental publics services, Greens leader Richard Di Natale [DEE NAT AR LEE] announced a $5.8 billion election policy to provide dental care to all Australians.

Di Natale says that the health of Australians “should not be determined by their postcode or bank balance”, and plans the policy will include setting a fee schedule by the federal government that will pay for public dental services and private dental practices.
