Services providing support to homeless people in Perth announced they are at breaking point due to funding levels having been stagnant for years.

WA Council of Social Services chief executive Louise Giolitto says the most vulnerable people in the community would pay the price for state governments failing to fund the sector to keep up with demand and the cost of running services.

Ms Giolitto says, “services are facing their eighth short term extension in June 2019, and while legislated award for employee costs have increased by up to 45 per cent, funding has remained the same. It’s simply unsustainable.”
