The Labor federal government have promised to contribute $73 million towards the $210 million needed to build an overpass over the rail line on Boundary Road at Coopers Plains.

There have been four accidents recorded each year for the past seven years and there is serious traffic congestion during peak hours and school times caused by the frequent rail crossing.

Opposition spokesman for infrastructure, transport, cities and regional development, Anthony Albanese, says, Labor wanted to eliminate the bottleneck that could affect train travel between Brisbane and the Gold Coast if one of those four incidents each year blocked the rail line.
