President Donald Trump has blasted Central American countries for sending migrants to America and cut aid to El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras.
A surge of asylum seekers from the three countries tried to enter the United States within the last few days and Trump accused the nations of “setting up” migrant caravans and sending them north.
Trump said there was a “very good likelihood” he would close the border this week if Mexico did not stop immigrants from reaching the United States.
